Athleticism:

A tremendous athlete who at 6’6 247 ran in the 4.4 range. Has impressive strength as well, as he benched 225 for 27 reps. Possesses a great burst and can get down-field in a hurry. Should have no issues separating from linebackers and safeties in the NFL.

Grade: 4.5

Hands:

Is a reliable receiver who can consistently catch the ball off his frame with his hands. Has a wide catch radius and can go up and snatch the football. Has no difficulty making the tough catches through traffic and is reliable underneath. Rarely drops passes.

Grade: 5.0

Route Running:

An impressive and savvy route runner. Gets off the line quickly and can eat up ground in a hurry. Has the athleticism to separate with ease down the field. Will turn linebackers and defensive backs around with head fakes and double moves. Is very good at finding soft spots underneath in zone coverage. Will use his arms to create space between defenders at the contact point.

Grade: 4.5

Blocking:

Will likely not be much of an in-line blocker, at least for the early part of his NFL career. However, blocks well on the move where he can use his athleticism to reach targets in space. Has good strength despite his size and despite not getting a lot of push does a good job of maintaining his blocks. Will overextend and slip off blocks too easily at times.

Grade: 3.0

Intangibles:

Despite not starting early on in his career he saw a lot of action. Improved every season. Was helped tremendously by playing with start quarterback Andrew Luck but I’d say the benefits were mutual. Was a star basketball player in high school and played numerous positions on offense as well. Has the speed of a wide receiver but the body of a tight end. Has no known off-field issues. Sprained his ankle and was unable to run at the combine but has been fairly durable.

Grade: 3.0

Outlook:

A very impressive tight end who should be able to make an immediate impact with an NFL team. Has the speed to stretch the field and be a big-play threat. A great all-around player who is not a bad blocker at all, just isn’t polished enough. Would be a steal if he lasted until the 2nd round. A Dallas Clark type of tight end.
