Overview:

Marcell Dareus has been overlooked at times with the emergence of Nick Fairley this past year. I think Dareus is the better prospect however. He is much more polished and while the productivity isn’t there as it is with Fairley, I think Dareus is a much safer pick. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a high ceiling, but I don’t see the bust potential in him as I do with Fairley.

- Strong lower body, anchors really well
- Plays with great leverage
- Does a great job of shedding blocks
- Powerful and violent hands
- Does well splitting double teams
- Good quickness off the snap
- Moves well laterally
- Good pass-rusher
- Has more than one move
- Dominates opponents inside
- Has a good motor and works hard inside
- Versatile, can play in a 4-3 and 3-4

Negatives

- Not very experienced
- Productivity was not that impressive
- Let’s up on plays and assumes his teammates will make the tackle down field
- Suspended 2 games for accepting benefits from an agent
